House prosecutors ready with evidence in Duterte impeach trial – Ridon

A panel of prosecutors elected by the House of Representatives for Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial stands ready to present the evidence proving the charges of corruption and constitutional violation against her, Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Terry Ridon said on Monday.

Ridon said the 11-member prosecution team also pledged to comply with any directives from the Senate, which is sitting as an impeachment court, including all orders, processes and rulings.

“We are ready to present the evidence before the impeachment court in the coming days,” Ridon said in a statement.

On Monday, the Senate convened as an impeachment court for the impeachment trial of Duterte, who faces accusations of unexplained wealth, misusing confidential funds and threats to have President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr and his family assassinated in the case she was killed.
